This page explains the responsibilities that apply to creators who use Fennec Forms to collect, process, or send respondent or recipient information through forms, surveys, quizzes, campaigns, and related workflows.

Your role as a creator

Creators control the forms, surveys, quizzes, campaigns, and workflows they publish through the Service, including the content of those experiences, the categories of information collected, the persons contacted, and the purposes for which data is collected and used.

Creators are solely responsible for determining whether their use of the Service complies with applicable laws, regulations, industry rules, contractual obligations, and internal policies, including those relating to privacy, data protection, consumer communications, direct marketing, consent, notice, retention, and cross-border data transfers.

By using the Service to collect, process, or send respondent or recipient information, the Creator represents and warrants that it has provided all required notices, obtained all required permissions or lawful bases, and will use the Service only in a manner permitted by applicable law.

What this means in practice

When you create a form or campaign, you decide what information to ask for, who to send it to, and what to do with the responses. You are responsible for making sure those decisions comply with the laws that apply to your audience, your industry, and your region.

This includes decisions about what fields and metadata are enabled, the purpose of collection, who is contacted and why, what notices or disclosures you provide, what consent or legal basis you rely on, how long you retain data, and how you handle requests from respondents.

What Fennec Forms provides

Fennec Forms provides configurable tools and technical features but does not provide legal advice and does not represent or warrant that any specific configuration or use of the Service will satisfy the legal requirements applicable to the Creator's jurisdiction, industry, audience, or use case.

Analytics and campaign tracking

If you enable analytics or campaign tracking features, you are additionally responsible for understanding what metadata is collected, configuring collection settings appropriately, and providing any required disclosures about tracking and measurement to your respondents or recipients.

Fennec Forms provides controls to configure metadata collection scope and analytics settings. The defaults are designed to be conservative, but you are responsible for reviewing them for your use case.
