Use Fennec Forms to collect influencer product requests on your storefront, ask follow-up questions based on each answer, and review requests before fulfilling them manually.
This guide starts after Fennec Forms is installed on your Shopify store. You will need a Fennec account with a verified email address and a Shopify theme that supports app blocks.
The Shopify merchant agreement draft and Shopify privacy notice draft describe the proposed Shopify service terms and data handling. These documents are prepared for review and are not effective agreements or policies. The current Terms of Service and Privacy Policy remain available.
1. Connect your workspace
- Open Fennec Forms in Shopify admin.
- Choose Connect workspace. The Fennec account step opens in a new tab.
- Sign in to Fennec, or create a free account if registration is available. Complete email verification if prompted.
- Choose a workspace you own and confirm the connection.
- Return to Shopify and choose Refresh connection. You should see Workspace connected and your workspace name.
If the store already has a connected workspace, choose Connect account instead. Sign in with a Fennec account that belongs to that workspace, complete the account step, then return to Shopify and refresh. Each Shopify staff member connects their own Fennec account; their workspace permissions still apply.
2. Customize the Product Request starter
- Choose Create product-request form. This creates an editable draft from the Product Request starter.
- Set the Form name and Form description, then choose Save form details.
- Find Product Requested. Replace the sample products in Choices, one per line with your short product list. Choose Save question.
- Review the contact and creator questions. Update a Question label where available and save each question you change. The request-contact permission text stays fixed.
The product choices are maintained in Fennec. They do not update automatically from your Shopify catalog.
Supported launch questions
Shopify uses the original Product Request starter questions. You can edit product and creator choices, question labels and their follow-up logic, reorder questions, and remove optional request questions. Keep Full Name, Email Address and Permission to contact you required and visible. Full Name supports first and last names only.
Phone, postal addresses, additional customer fields, marketing opt-in, payments, uploads and newly added questions are outside this Shopify launch scope. Adding them or changing a starter field's identity/type in the full Fennec editor makes that form unavailable in Shopify. App Home lists the corrections needed. Restore the starter questions/settings or create a new Product Request starter, then publish and refresh the picker. The existing form and responses are preserved.
Use request-detail questions for product/creator context. Do not repurpose them to ask for additional customer contact data or marketing consent. Permission to contact someone about their request never subscribes them to marketing. Ordinary Fennec forms retain their usual field support. Use the Shopify app block for this integration; a generic embed does not provide its verified customer synchronization.
Keep the Other follow-up working
The starter includes Which other product?, which appears and is required only when someone chooses Other. Keep Other in your product choices to use that branch.
If you rename that choice, update Show this question when Product Requested is on the follow-up question to match, then choose Save question. The creator-platform questions use the same pattern: Which other platform? follows Other in Where do you share content?.
3. Publish for your storefront
Choose Publish form when the draft is ready. This publishes it and enables Shopify storefront use.
If an existing form is already published but says published, storefront off, choose Enable for Shopify storefront. A published hosted form must also have embedding enabled before it is available in Shopify's form picker.
Shopify forms and responses share the connected workspace's plan limits with its other Fennec forms. A Free workspace is subject to those limits too; Shopify does not provide a separate form or response allowance. If an action is blocked by a limit, review the message before trying again.
4. Add the form block to your theme
- Choose Add form block to theme to open your current theme's Home template in Shopify's Theme Editor. The shortcut inserts a Fennec Forms Form block in a new Apps section.
- If requests belong on another page, switch to that page's template and add the Form app block there. Remove the unused Home block before saving.
- In the block settings, select your form in Published form.
- Move the block to the right position and preview the page on desktop and mobile.
- Save the theme. If you are editing an unpublished theme, customers will see the form only after that theme is published.
The form follows your theme's font and text color. Its form controls have their own layout, so preview it with your theme before sharing the page.
5. Test and review a request
Open the storefront page and submit a test using an email address you control and fictional creator details, such as a profile at https://example.com. Try both a listed product and Other to check that the follow-up appears only when needed.
Return to Fennec Forms in Shopify admin, find Requests, and choose Refresh requests. Open the request to see the full response. Follow up with the applicant and arrange product fulfillment manually; submitting a form does not create an order or fulfill a shipment.
New requests submitted through the Shopify form block also create or link a Shopify customer. Existing customer name changes require review and approval in Requests. Request-contact consent is not marketing opt-in, and customer marketing preferences stay as they are. Responses are also available in the connected Fennec workspace for its usual review and export workflow.
If something does not look right
- The form is missing from the picker: check App Home for unsupported-question messages, then confirm that it is published and enabled for Shopify storefront use. Choose Refresh forms in App Home. If a picker-sync warning appears, refresh again shortly, then reopen the Theme Editor.
- The block is missing from the theme: check that your theme supports app blocks and that the section accepts them. Try an Apps section if your theme provides one.
- The form does not load on the storefront: check that the block has a selected form, the theme was saved, and you are viewing the intended theme. Also check that the form remains published, embedding is enabled, and any embed domain restrictions allow the storefront.
- The follow-up question is missing or always visible: check that the choice label and the follow-up's trigger match exactly, save the question, then test again.
- The workspace still is not connected: finish the Fennec step in the new tab, then return to Shopify and choose Refresh connection. Other staff should use Connect account with a member account for that workspace.
- Your Shopify session expired: reload Fennec Forms in Shopify admin and try again.
Need a hand?
Use Help: Shopify setup or Contact support in Fennec Forms App Home, or contact Fennec support. Include your store's .myshopify.com address, the form name, the step where you got stuck, and any error message. A screenshot can help, as long as it does not include customer answers or account credentials.
